Spring Notes UNIT
Explore collage and poetry as you create special springtime messages. Celebrate a special holiday, such as Mother’s Day, include a card in your “May Day” basket, or simply send a cheerful note to a friend. This unit invites you to explore your creativity and share it with others.

Notice: Notice works of art in the museum collection for inspiration! What do you notice about color, texture, and shape? Use your describing words to create a poem.
Activity:
Expedition: Notice flowers in your garden or in nature for inspiration! What do you notice about texture, color, and shape? Consider your senses. What do you notice about how the flowers smell and feel? Document your findings.
ACtivity:
Create: Create a “Spring Note” for someone special! Illustrate a spring-inspired scene with watercolor pencils or collage using images that inspire you. Follow the guide to address your envelope.
