ACtivity: alphabet + art “sing-a-long”
Join teaching artist Scot Cannon in an original Alphabet + Art sing-a-long!
ACtivity: create your own lyrics
Using the tune composed by teaching artist Scot Cannon, create your own lyrics to accompany the flashcards.
ACtivity: create your own flashcards
If you would like to create your own alphabet song with alternative works of art, visit the museum collection and “search object” for artwork by topic or theme. Explore with students what they notice in the works of art. What objects stand out in the work? What words match those objects? If a work of art has multiple themes (i.e. Boats, Water, Islands, etc.) collaborate together to select which object works best for the flashcard.
